About Polarity
Polarity began with a worry that anyone living with or close to someone with a mood disorder will recognise: when will the next episode arrive? We started working towards prediction, but soon realised we needed to start even earlier, by making basic digital phenotyping data available to both patients and clinicians.
The idea grew out of lived experience and the bipolar community in Gothenburg, and is developed through Sahlgrenska Science Park's CO-AX incubator. In 2026 the work moved into Polarity Digital Health AB, which is building Polarity as medical device software for clinics and clinical trials.
Today we work from Gothenburg, in dialogue with psychiatry and research in the Nordics and Germany.
Care in other fields is guided by measurements. In psychiatry, follow-up still relies on conversations and rating scales a few times a year, based on what the patient remembers.
